Love Art Studios offers a diverse range of creative freedom art sessions in rural locations in Mid Sussex, catering to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Our approach is person-centered, focusing on providing a therapeutic and safe environment where participants can build confidence and connect through art.

Operating from a portable artist studio stocked with a wide variety of quality art materials, we offer highly skilled and passionate facilitators who share their expertise with our participants. Our services include:

  • Primary school after-school and holiday clubs

  • Small in-person group sessions for home education or those out of school

  • Art sessions in care homes for individuals living with dementia

  • Adult painting, drawing, and printing classes

  • Youth club activities for organisations like Brownies and Guides

  • 1:1 support for individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

  • Annual fundraising events for local community initiatives, such as the Hassocks food bank and Ditchling school

We also provide whole or half-day arts weeks in schools, enrichment activities in secondary schools and well-being events focused on promoting mental wellness through creative expression. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can connect, learn new techniques, and share ideas, with as much or as little support as needed.

Abigail Lock

Abigail is the passionate founder of Love Art Studios, driven by her love for creativity and the belief in its transformative power. With a background in screen printing and surface pattern design, Abigail has a particular interest in capturing the beauty of nature in her botanical-style paintings and drawings.

As a parent carer to her autistic son, Abigail understands the importance of creating safe spaces where everyone can express themselves freely. She is a firm believer in the therapeutic benefits of art for our minds and hearts.

Abigail's dedication to supporting others extends beyond her artistic pursuits. She has studied ‘dementia and the arts’, completed adult counselling level 2, adult mental health first aid and obtained certifications in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) for educators, autism awareness and paediatric first aid. Regularly updating her safeguarding training, Abigail ensures a secure environment for all participants.

With extensive experience working with individuals living with anxiety, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), autism, ADHD, and dementia, Abigail is a compassionate advocate for mental well-being. She believes in the power of allowing our brains to switch off through creative activities. A true people person, Abigail thrives on connecting with others and creating meaningful experiences through art.

Suzi Lowe 

Suzi Lowe is a seasoned art facilitator with a background in fashion and textiles. With a career in print design for swimwear, she brings a unique perspective to her artistic endeavours. Suzi’s approach to art is intuitive, allowing her creativity to flow freely. She thrives on experimenting with colour, infusing her work with vibrancy and passion.

With a wealth of experience, Suzi is adept at guiding others through their artistic journeys. Her positive energy is contagious, creating an uplifting and supportive environment for all participants. Additionally, Suzi is trained in paediatric first aid and regularly updates her child safeguarding training, ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved in her workshops and sessions.
