Fathers Day Personalised Gift
Turn your child's artwork into a treasured gift!
We have teamed up with local photographer and designer Gray Wilkinson to create personalised t-shirts and mugs featuring your child's favourite artwork - perfect as a Father's Day gift on 15th June (or as a gift to family and friends at any time).
Here's how it works:
- Use your smartphone to take a picture of one of your child's artworks (our 'how to' guide is attached)
- Email the picture to: wilkinsongray@gmail.com by Wednesday 21st May.
- Gray will handle the editing and send you a design proof before printing.
- Add a personal touch - you can include a short message on your item and Gray will help you choose a great font.
You should be able to collect the finished gift from The Mercantile Adventurers at 40 Cyprus Road, Burgess Hill from 10th June. (There is free parking at the rear).
Gray will contact you to confirm when your order is ready.
Prices
T-shirts £30
Mugs £20
NB Not restricted to Love Art attendees!
How to photograph your child's art
A smartphone is an ideal camera for photographing artwork - make sure the light is right and the phone is square-on.
Daylight is ideal
Direct sunlight is too harsh
Artificial light is not advised because it upsets the colour balance.
The smartphone is held above the artwork, parallel to the artwork's surface.
Artificial lighting makes it hard to get even lighting across the artwork.
If the light is brighter on one side than the other, you can prop up a piece of white board or paper at right angles to your artwork on the shadowy side to reflect some of the light back onto it.
The aim is to get the light even across the image.
Saving images
Images are best saved as either JPGs or PNGs as most website hosting platforms will accept either of these files types. Most phones will save images as JPG and you can email from your images/camera roll.
Email your photographs as attachments to: wilkinsongray@gmail.com. Gray will edit them to the size and resolution required to make them into prints for t-shirts or mugs.
