Whole School Art Projects

We work in partnership with schools to deliver inspiring, well organised whole school art projects that feel calm, enriching and genuinely collaborative.

Each project begins with a conversation. Together, we shape a creative theme that fits your school’s needs - this might link to a whole school topic, curriculum focus, class names, or a specific idea such as birds, world textiles, or a shared cultural theme. From there, we design a project that works practically and creatively for your setting.

On the day, our experienced team comes in and transforms your hall or shared space into a creative hub. We set up clearly structured art stations, allowing classes or groups of pupils to rotate smoothly through activities. With a team of up to 10 artists and facilitators, we can confidently accommodate large numbers of students while maintaining a calm, supportive atmosphere.

We create a detailed timetable in advance, including transitions and clear down times and always allow for lunchtime use of the hall where needed. We bring everything with us - table coverings, high-quality art materials, and plenty of enthusiasm - so the experience is seamless for staff and pupils.

Our team is experienced in working with children with SEND and we take great care to create sessions that are inclusive, gentle and confidence building. Where a child has a 1:1 support arrangement, this support should continue to be provided by the school during the sessions.

Artwork can be displayed as part of the project and we’re very happy to support with this - it works best when display plans are discussed in advance. We also understand that many children love taking their artwork home, and we can build this into the planning too.

Above all, these sessions are designed to feel unhurried, joyful, and meaningful - giving children the space to explore creativity in a way that feels safe, engaging, and memorable.

How Our Projects Can Support Artsmark

Our whole-school art projects can make a strong contribution to Artsmark, supporting schools as they develop a rich, inclusive arts and culture offer.

Our sessions help schools evidence Artsmark criteria by:

  • Strengthening arts and culture provision

Projects provide high-quality, hands-on creative experiences led by professional artists, enriching your existing curriculum.

  • Embedding creativity across the school

Whole-school themes encourage shared language, ideas, and outcomes across year groups, helping creativity feel cohesive rather than isolated.

  • Supporting inclusion and wellbeing

Our calm, SEND-aware approach supports emotional regulation, confidence and engagement - key areas within Artsmark’s focus on inclusive practice.

  • Providing professional collaboration

Working alongside our experienced team demonstrates meaningful partnership with creative practitioners, a core Artsmark requirement.

  • Creating visible outcomes

Finished artwork, displays, photographs, and planning documents can all be used as evidence for Artsmark portfolios and reflective evaluations.

  • Encouraging pupil voice and ownership

Children are actively involved in making, exploring, and responding creatively - often showing pride, confidence, and connection to their work.

We’re happy to discuss how a project can be shaped specifically to support your Artsmark journey and can provide supporting information for planning, reflection and evidence gathering if helpful.

FAQ

  • We have learned that these whole school projects work best without paint because of needing to dry multiple paintings and the hall needing to be used for lunch time. We bring pencils, felt tips, pastels, crayons, maker pens, felt tips pens, high lighters. If you wanted a painting session we would use watercolours as they dry fast!

  • We are a team of professional creatives and run after school clubs and holiday clubs for primary aged children in Sussex. We also work 1:1 with SEND children not attending school.

  • Our days are bespoke, we are transparent about prep, we often print out templates and work closely with school to manage expectations. We can also work to a budget if that works better for you.
