Summer Holiday Textiles - Ditchling Barn
Summer Holiday Textile Studio
Discover the colourful world of textiles in this relaxed, small-group workshop for creative children aged 10+.
With experienced textile designer Chris Judge on hand to guide and inspire, children can choose the project that interests them most. There are no set outcomes, giving everyone the freedom to learn new skills while creating something personal and unique.
Ideas include creating a vibrant woven wall hanging using colourful fabric strips, decorating a plain T-shirt with appliqué, sewing a simple cushion, learning basic sewing techniques or experimenting with macramé, knitting or crochet.
Whether they’re completely new to textiles or already love making things, every child is supported to work at their own pace in a calm, welcoming environment.
Perfect for children who enjoy:
Making things with their hands
Designing and creating
Learning new skills
Working independently
Exploring different textile techniques
Workshop Details
Dates: Thursday 6th August & Thursday 13th August

A nut-free snack and drink
A named water bottle
A sun hat and sunscreen already applied
Please apply suncream before arriving and send a named sun hat, a named water bottle and raincoat, we are preparing for all weathers!
Parking & Drop-Off
It's best to park in the new car park on Keymer Road and walk to the barn, there is very limited parking outside the green by the pond/museum and its a very tight turning point. Plus if multiple people park right by the green, its going to jam up fast!
