Textile Studio 29th October - Ditchling Barn

£42.00

Thursday 29th October 2-4.30pm

Ages: 8+

A relaxed, creative workshop where older children can make something they're genuinely excited about. Rather than everyone making the same project, they'll choose what they'd like to create. Weave a colourful wall hanging using fabric scraps, bring a plain T-shirt or tote bag to customise with appliqué, learn simple sewing techniques, try macramé, knitting or crochet or simply explore textiles and see where your imagination takes you! Led by experienced textile designer, Chris Judge, with over 30 years in the clothing and textile industry.

What to Bring:

Nut-free snacks and drink

We provide biscuits for the famous "biscuit time" snack break

Please send a waterproof jacket (we go outside if it’s dry, no wellies please)

Please send the children in clothes that are ok to get paint on, we use water based paint, but even that can mark clothing and it's nice for the children to feel free with creating, not worried about clothing. We do our best to get paintings dry, but have your boot ready with newspaper for any last minute creations!

Parking & Drop-Off

It's best to park in the new car park on Keymer Road and walk to the barn, there is very limited parking outside the green by the pond/museum and its a very tight turning point. Plus if multiple people park right by the green, its going to jam up fast! You enter at the back of the barn through the courtyard on the church side of the building.
